Mary Spiro

The Story of Nanobiotechnology

Nanotechnology, nanomedicine, nanobiotech. What do all these terms mean? How might nanotechnology impact the way we study basic science, how we diagnose or treat disease, how we protect human health and the environment, or how we prevent nanoparticles from becoming environmental hazards themselves? Mary will give an overview of research on this emerging science from the perspective of Johns Hopkins University and attempt to answer some of these questions.

About Mary Spiro:

She is also the Baltimore Science News Examiner and is keenly interested in bridging the gap between scientists and the public to improve the nation's understanding and appreciation for science in our daily lives.
