Humankind has used technology to (so far) avoid the population collapse that Malthus predicted at the turn of the 19th century. This talk will be a brief and entertaining look at the concept of carrying capacity, the continuing relevance of Malthus' predictions, how population collapse happens, and the various ways in which humanity can continue to avoid calamity.
