Its all about the soil!
East Coast Organics is a 10 year old, Baltimore based business focused on reducing environmental impact by the development of healthy soil. Customers include golf courses, universities, zoos, municipalities, landscape services, tree companies and agricultural operations. Our approach is threefold: reduce cost, reduce environmental impact and improve our customers image as a steward of the environment. The approach also yields results that outperform a chemical approach to land management. Thus, our approach creates a win win....win scenario with our customers. Last year ECO was approached to convert all of the NYC zoos to organic. The results were fantastic and this job alone resulted in reduced chemical exposure to 100,000 people per day. ECO needs key personnel to take the company to the next level.
About Jeff Otto :
I studied anthropology and philosophy at TSU. Travelled extensively until about 30. Started a commercial greenhouse business in 1998 producing short cycle edible crops including wheatgrass and sprouts. Eventually began producing organic starts to east coast farmers. We were one of the only sources for organic vegetable starts on the east coast at the time. Formed ECO to improve availability of organic products on the east coast and reduce petrochemical products from being applied to our soils. Alternate agenda includes soil mineralization and increased nutrient density for food production as well as urban food production on underutilized green space. I have 4 beautiful daughters from 17 years to 17 months. peace
