Paul Dube; aka Earl Slutzky
slutzky's of Baltimore
This is the continuing story of a small store in Dundalk run by a family named Slutzky. The first store opened in 1958. The neighborhood is honest and hard working people. We sponsor a PAL baseball team, and offer free coffee and donuts to the beat cops.
Slutzky’s General Store sells it all; we got a motto – “If we ain’t got it; you don’t need it”. Business really picked up when we opened a bar in the front of the store.
Earl Slutzky Jr runs the place now; ya see I’m dead, been dead for some 20 years. I haunt the store, stuck here. Heaven doesn’t want me and hell is afraid I’ll take over. I cause as much mischief as possible in the store. Once in a while I visit my wife in the nursing home, she can’t see me but when I’m with her she has peace. Earl Jr. constantly gets calls from the home about her language; she can make a truck driver blush. More about our love story soon.
Earl Jr. is married to Eunice. Eunice is the love of Earl’s life. She tends the bar and is in charge of the poker room in back, called the “Club Room”. The entrance is via the back door. The door is guarded by a hulk of a man called Tiny. Tiny has a snarly white dog named “Boh”, Boh lives in Tiny’s man purse. If Boh likes you, you can enter.
Earl and Eunice have a son Joey- Joey runs the Essex store with his wife Brenda, Joey is an idiot. Daughter Whitney is promiscuous; tattooed and pierced.
