About Ethel Weld, MD:
Ethel Weld was born the second of five siblings in Cambridge, MA. She studied French, Chinese, and History in college at NYU. Then she lived in Taipei, Taiwan, for a year and a half after college, working in a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic and studying wing-chun kung fu. After this she lived in San Francisco, California studying gap junction channelopathies in sporadic non-syndromic deafness. She attended medical school at the University of Chicago, during which she did a Schweitzer fellowship in pediatrics and surgery at the Schweitzer Hospital in Lambarene, Gabon. She is currently in the third year of a 4-year combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at University of Maryland and Veterans Administration Maryland Healthcare System. She meticulously maintains a top-ten list of restaurants in Baltimore, broken down by food genre and subcategories such as "Best Healthy-seeming Breakfast Sandwich" and "Best Slightly Seedy Breakfast Sandwich".
